The "State of the Industry & EXPO" for Northern Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland has been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 18, 6 – 9 PM. The location will be at the National Rural Electric Cooperative, 4301 Wilson Boulevard, in Arlington.
The Virginia Film Office and the Virginia Production Alliance invite you to "The 2010 State of the Industry Meeting and Expo." The VFO and the VPA will be hosting three "State of the Industry" meetings in three locations this year. This unique and popular event is an opportunity for production professionals to get together and find out what’s going on in the world of Virginia media production. THE EVENT At the State of the Industry and Expo, you will see old friends and colleagues and meet others who are part of Virginia’s film, television, video, audio, and new media production community. There will be hors d’oeuvres and an open bar serving beer, wine, and soft drinks. You can mingle with the crowd or visit the Virginia businesses and organizations that are participating in the EXPO. There will also be a screening room where Virginia-made short films, trailers and clips will be shown throughout the evening. Free parking is available at the 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. event. RSVP NORTHERN VIRGINIA National Rural Electric Cooperative THE SCREENING ROOM The State of the Industry screening room is an opportunity for Virginia filmmakers to showcase their work. Submissions of trailers, short films, and film clips no longer than 10 minutes will be accepted for the showcase. Preference will be given to work filmed in 2009 or from a project currently in development or production. Other types of submissions will be considered. Various formats including mini-DV, DVD, D-beta and QuickTime will be accepted. To be considered, projects must be mailed or hand delivered to the Virginia Film Office, 901 East Byrd Street, Richmond Virginia, 23219-4048 by January 14 for Richmond and January 28 for Hampton Roads and Northern Virginia. Exhibitors can arrive any time after 5:00 p.m. to set up. There are a limited number of spaces at each venue and these will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
